Obituary for Danny L. Gibbs
Danny L. Gibbs, age 70, of New Baden, died at 5:39 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
He was born May 28, 1948 in Harrisburg, IL, the son of the late Waldo and Lora (Angelly) Gibbs. He married Akiyo Toriyama. She survives.
Besides, Mrs. Gibbs, he is survived by four children: Angela (Don) Greco of Belleville, Andrea (Todd) Patkus of Mt. Olive, IL, Tia (Wes) Chilson of New Baden and Alisa (Richie) Pitts of New Baden; three grandchildren: Morgan Fochtmann (boyfriend Ryan Barker and his daughter, Mackenzie), Aidan Pitts and Adysen Pitts; one sister, Faye Greer of Carterville, IL and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Gibbs worked for Monterey Coal Co. as a coal miner. He was also a veteran of the US Army and a member of American Legion Post 321 in New Baden.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the New Baden American Legion Hall, 105 E. Illinois, New Baden, IL 62265.
