Obituary for Kenneth L. Settles
Kenneth L. Settles, age 74, of Edwardsville, formerly of Gillespie, IL, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his residence.
He was born November 23, 1944 in Austin, TX, the son of the late John and Hazel (Wright) Settles. He married Norma Daugherty December 8, 1964. She survives.
Also surviving are three children: Karen (Jon) Ulery of Gillespie, Angela (Don) Pulliam of Edwardsville and Kenneth (significant other Casey Kershaw) Settles of Mt. Olive, IL; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Carl Settles of California, Juanita of Washington, Judy Wotchko of Collinsville and Maxine Page of Litchfield, IL.
Besides his parents, Mr. Settles was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Settles and Paul Settles; and a sister, Carolyn Sue.
Kenneth retired from Monterey Coal Company. He was an avid outdoorsman.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be given to the American Heart Association.
