Joe was a great guy and patriot. He lived a life most people could not fathom. My wife, Sandy Anderson, introduced me to Joe while cleaning up her step moms and dads house across the road. We visited often that summer while down there. He had many stories and joined the Army because they paid more than he could make anywhere else. One dollar a day. He was stationed in the Philippines before we entered WWII. He was issued WWI uniforms and guns. Did you know that the Philippines were bombed 12hours after Pearl Harbor? I didn’t but Joe did. He was a prisoner of war for the entire time and was not released until we dropped the Atomic bomb. He talked for hours and I just listened, visualized and asked the appropriate question when needed. I could write a book on what Joe told me but that is his story. God Bless you Joe it was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for the memories. Thank you for your service.
Peace and Love,
