Obituary for Patricia A. Zitta (Jorns)
Patricia A. Zitta, age 75, of Swansea, formerly of Highland, passed away at 12:58 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Mrs. Zitta was born August 17, 1942 in Shiloh Valley, IL, the daughter of the late Alfred William and Rosemary (Newton) Jorns. She married John Frank Zitta May 6, 1961. He preceded her in death in January of 2018.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granchild, Kassey Massey; and two siblings: Carol Grueber and John Jorns.
She is survived by three children: Tracy Lynn (Ken) Duggins of St. Louis, Steven John (Sandy) Zitta of Winston Salem, NC and Craig William (Peggy) Zitta of Troy, IL; seven grandchildren: John Paul (Kelsey) Zitta, Sadie (Ward) Cochran, Jessica (Andy) Brochahn, Meade (Nichole) Massey, Craig Robert Zitta, Brittany (Andy) Evans and Bailey (Mike) French; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, David (Cindy) Jorns of Belleville.
Mrs. Zitta retired in 2013 as a cashier at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She also wokred for many years in the family business, Zitta Vending. She enjoyed spending time at their lake house at Lake Egypt, cooking, quilting, baking and spending time with her family.
