Pearl LaVell Crawford, age 84, of Edwardsville, passed away peacefully at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. She was born November 10, 1933 in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of the late Harold Clifton and Josephine Grace (Tannehill) Micenheimer.

Besides her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her step-mother, Velma Micenheimer; two brothers: George and Merrill Micenheimer; and one sister, Juanita Bledsoe.

Surviving are a daughter, Kim (John) Douglas of Clovis, NM; two grandchildren: Jimmy Clayton and Kenny Clayton, both of Clovis, NM; two sisters: Mayola (Thomas) Dean of Pana, IL and Delores Donahoo of Centralia, IL; a special cousin, Linda (Michael) Kovarik of Edwardsville; multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

Ms. Crawford graduated from Cofeen High School in 1952. During high school she worked as a telephone operator. She also was employed at Springfield Marine Bank, and was employed as an Accounting Auditor at the Bank of Edwardsville from 1965 until her retirement in 1999.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, where she was active with the bible and study groups, the “Sisters in Christ”. She loved to travel and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and also had memberships with the St. Louis Zoo, the Fox Theater and the Muny Opera.

She didn’t know where the road ended, but always wanted to know; so she’d say, “Let’s find out…we could always turn around.”

Visitation will be from 10-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2249 S. State Rt. 157 in Edwardsville. The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation. Following the service a dinner will be provided by the women of the church. Burial of her cremated remains will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.
